My Approach

My own personal and professional experiences inform my approach and I welcome people facing complex difficulties and challenges. I have experience of working with a wide range of issues including drug and alcohol addiction; imprisonment; disability, diagnosis with life-affecting conditions and the struggle to make sense of life after bereavement.

I work empathically through genuine therapeutic relationship, to help you unpick the difficult and painful experiences that are causing you problems. Together we can begin to make sense of your life, relationships and behaviours and explore new ways of being that feel more helpful to you going forwards.

My Experience

My counselling training includes:

  • Face-to-face work at The SWAN Project with people affected by drug and alcohol issues.

  • Online work at Rareminds with people affected by rare genetic and often, life limiting, conditions.

Other experience:

  • Group work with families who have relatives in prison abroad for Prisoners Abroad

  • Drug and alcohol recovery work with charity DHI
